The Garden Court Endowment Fund
Established by a grant from the Tuohy Foundation

The success of Garden Court will require a long-term community commitment to funding the services that are essential for successful independent living of its residents. Frail residents of Garden Court have limited ability to cook, shop, drive, and clean their apartments. In addition they face the isolation of living alone. Garden Court provides a lively social environment with services in a community rich in beauty and dignity in which seniors can enjoy the independence they felt was no longer possible. Garden Court is recognized nationally as a premier example of housing for low-income seniors with services.


Marjorie Slaught Scholarship Fund
Established by Marjorie Slaught, a former resident of Garden Court

Financial emergencies arise for low-income seniors (those with income under $700, per month). Because of this they must make real and difficult choices. The Marjorie Slaught Scholarship Fund has been established to low-income senior facing such choices.

Assistance is for one-time only short term emergencies.


Balin Cleaning Grant
Established by the Balin family in honor of their mother

This grant was established to enable Garden Court Residents to receive assistance with deep cleaning of their apartment. Overwhelmed with cleaning responsibilities this grant helps senior maintain a healthy living environment.
